feeling overwhelmed?
Learn simple techniques to deal with difficult people, get things done with less stress, and spend less time at work - even if you're one of the "creatively undisciplined".
Have a better day.
I believe work should be life enhancing and, as much as possible, fun but a lot of things can get in the way:
- sheer volume of work to do,
- mounting clutter,
- having to deal with difficult people,
- our own self-esteem, and lack of confidence and assertiveness
If you've had enough of this stuff making your working day miserable, let me help you have a better day.
Productivity Without Pain
If you've tried the typical methods for managing your time and getting organised without great success there's still hope.
The problem with most time management gurus are that they are the kind of people who are naturally quite well organised to start with. And a lot of their techniques simply don't work well with creative, right-brained people.
I’ll show you simple techniques that make the difference between success and failure, pain and productivity. I'll help you work with who you are - to do something different, not to be someone different.
I can help you solve practical problems with clutter and time management and find ways to beat the resistance that gets in the way of doing your work.
If you need to be running multiple projects to keep your interest (see my website for Scanners), let me help you make it all manageable.
If you'd like to create a working day that feels like fun and gives you plenty of time for other things, have a read of my experiments on working a 4 hour day on my CreativeMaverick blog.
Feeling held back?
If you feel held back by lack of confidence and assertiveness, let's work together to change it. I can explain what contributes to this and show you simple exercises to make a real difference.
To get a feel for my philosophy on this, read posts on my CreativeMaverick blog on how to be happy.
Not like everyone else?
Some of my clients have special factors to deal with in their work - dyslexia, dyspraxia, or conditions such as chronic fatigue, or even serious illness such as Multiple Sclerosis.
Although I don't claim any special training for any of these conditions, my principles are the same as with all clients: you need to find your own habits that work for you - and it's all the more important if your body and mind don't work like other people's do.
I know from living my life without a pituitary gland (think of diabetes but four times more complicated!) that it really doesn't help when someone assumes your biology works exactly like theirs.
Of course, we are all different whether it's a recognised condition like those above or just the simple differences in personality we all have. Introvert or extravert, spontaneous or conservative, focussed or scanner, different people will suit different ways to work and live. I'll help you find what will really work for you.
How it works
You book a ticket for 3 sessions together on the phone over a period of 4-7 weeks. Each session is 40 minutes. I'll be learning about you, helping you have new insights and giving you the techiques and strategies that are most likely to work for you. We pack a lot in so come ready to take notes.
We will often set actions after a session to be done by an agreed date and if you wish, you can choose to report by email when you have completed these. Clients find this helps to cement the commitment to your own promises. And it's kind of nice to be able to report on your success when you've done it!
The work continues in between sessions as what we've you put what we covered in the sessions into action and your subsconscious continues to process. If something comes up, you can ask quick questions by email in between sessions.
While you are a client, I also occasionally send items of particular interest to you such as useful contacts, relevant events, website recommendations etc.
The cost of the 3 session ticket is £287.
Payment is by credit card using a secure online service.
You may find it helpful to find out your Wealth Dynamics profile when we start coaching. You can do this online here. I will then include an interpretation of your profile for you during the coaching sessions.

I was feeling chaotic, overwhelmed and unfocussed. Working with John was extremely helpful. I'm now delegating the work I don't want to do and have freed myself up to concentrate on the things I'm good at. And my sales have already significantly increased.

John coached me in how to deal with face-to-face meetings, and in how to find the right tone for particularly tricky letters and e-mails. My new life built around my research projects is still taking shape. John continues to help build my confidence and structure my work, both essential now that the daily framework of my old job is gone.

I am feeling much more confident in my work - I am also being more productive and trying to have a 'just get on with it' response when I think up ideas. I am sure that the coaching helped with this as I felt so great after the sessions I had. I even did a presentation at the Tate the other week and actually enjoyed it!
